Our policies and reports
Our policies and reports help families understand how our school works. Our annual report and school plan show what we’ve done and how we’re improving each year. Our policies address attendance, absences, behaviour, uniform and how we respond to your concerns.
Annual school report
Each year, we share our progress in the annual school report. It gives families a clear picture of how our school is performing and how we’re supporting every student’s success. The report reflects our commitment to openness, accountability and continuous improvement.
The report includes:
- what we’re doing well and where we’re improving
- student achievement and academic progress
- our school vision and goals
- key highlights and milestones
- challenges we’ve faced and how we’re addressing them.
School excellence plan
Our school excellence plan (SEP) is a working document that shows our priorities in learning, teaching and leading. It explains our focus areas for improvement and how we plan to get there. We write our SEP with help from our school community so it reflects our shared priorities.
School behaviour support and management plan
Our school has a school behaviour support and management plan (SBSMP). The SBSMP helps us create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for all students. It sets clear expectations for student behaviour. This includes how we respond to bullying and cyberbullying. We work together with our school community to shape the plan and review it each year.
Northbridge Public School is committed to explicitly teaching and modelling the school determined expectations of Respect, Responsibility and Success. This provides students with a safe environment where they can engage with their learning and develop positive relationships. PBL also addresses anti-racism through explicitly teaching strategies that develop inclusivity. We place importance on social emotional learning and do this by implementing the PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) and You Can Do It! Frameworks.

Attendance
Our preference is for families to organise holidays during school vacation. Holidays during the term should be entered into School Bytes > Attendance as an unjustified absence. Where there are special circumstances, families can apply for an Extended Leave Application (Travel) through School Bytes > Forms.

Anti-Racism Policy and Procedures
Racism is not tolerated in NSW public schools or department workplaces.
Students are expected to treat all members of the school community—staff, community members, and other students—fairly and with respect and to behave in ways that do not promote racism.
If you are experiencing racism or see or know about an incident of racism, you should report it to ensure it is addressed. You can seek assistance from a teacher or through the office by phone or email.
Reports of racism or religious intolerance can be reported directly to the ARCO, Simone McIntyre or the Principal. See Reports of racism for more information.
You can access the Religious Intolerance Helpline by calling 1300 679 332 and letting the operator know you are calling about religious bullying or intolerance.
- People who take action to challenge racism when they see it are called upstanders. More information is available on the Racism. No Way! website.
- Anti-bullying (NSW Department of Education) - provides resources and support for students on how to deal with bullying.
